Installation Trouble

Hi all. I'm a 'migrant' attempting to install trisquel on a TOSHIBA Satellite A665D. After getting the machine to boot from the disk, I selected the without installation option and was returned a blank screen with a flashing cursor, unresponsive to anything I typed. I restarted via power button and attempted to install directly, giving me the same result. Can anyone venture an explanation as to this or, better, advise me on how to complete the installation hassle free? Thanks - Tim.

I chose the default Slaine option.

Are you installing from a CD or a USB?

Maybe try the text based installer. It is a little more involved but will get you the same result.

Slaine doesn't offer a text-based install. Taranis does.

Could do text for Taranis and then upgrade right away.

A few things to try:

- Do you get the same problem when installing 4.0?
- Do you get the same problem when installing from USB?
- After re-downloading the .iso and MD5 checking it, does the problem recur?
