Microsoft joins the Linux Foundation

I think it will eventually be in the interest of Free Software for GNU to break up with Linux (at some point in the distant future; not now, of course). Linux has proven to be a fairly unfaithful spouse, admitting unclean hands and unclean code, gorging itself on proprietary blobs.
If more effort were put into HURD, it could potentially become technically superior to the Linux kernel, especially with new -- at least theoretical -- developments in microkernels. Nevertheless, its utility as a replacement for Linux appears to be far off, and, up to now, it has been practical to "clean up" Linux for use in distributions such as Trisquel.
I might try to play around with Debian GNU/Hurd a bit. Eventually it would be nice to see a HURD-based Trisquel or Parabola...
I believe there is a Debian Hurd version somewhere to download.
I'm very curious, Heather, tell me, have you tried it, how did it work for you?
Please do, once you find out more, Heather.
Also, there is a Guix Hurd too...
I was unaware of the existence of a Guix Hurd; I'll have to look into it...
