Sometimes mplayer crashes, and causes the computer to reboot.

Crash involves an X11 exit, and a framebuffer console message to the effect that computer will reboot in a few seconds...

The crash and reboot happen with the mplayer 1.1-4.8 of Trisquel, and with an 1.3.0 mplayer that I compiled.

Does anyone know what could be happening?

Would any record / log of these crash & reboot be stored somewhere in computer? I'm looking for something less vague my memories of something that might have been a framebuffer console...

Computer is Thinkpad x200. lspci says the following: https://dpaste.de/vuKW

You can write mplayer's messages into a file rather than in the terminal. Just append ' &> log' ("log" being the name of the file: call it whatever you want) to the command.

Xorg's most recent log are in "/var/log/Xorg.0.log".

I would test the hardware for failure; https://trisquel.info/fr/forum/launching-abrowser-or-icecat-once-maks-it-freeze#comment-92248

Finally, notice that MPlayer2 is in Trisquel's repository.
