Why on earth is the Trisquel community using PayPal? Aren't we working for a free and democratic world? I know I am!

Plenty, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paypal#Criticism

You can donate bitcoins (what raises other issues such as tax evasion) or do a wire transfer. See "Alternative payment methods" on https://trisquel.info/donate

I just tried to donate via bank transfer but the IBAN/account number seems to be not valid for EU payment. Is this a known issue?

We use Paypal because it's pragmatic. Very few people have Bitcoin wallets, but very many people have Paypal accounts or credit cards.

The fact that Bitcoin is a very expensive currency xplains to why so very few have wallets

I don't think that's it. Whole Bitcoins are not typically used, fractions of Bitcoin are. The real problems are simply that very few people bother with it, and that the value of Bitcoin is highly unstable.

We must accept only FREE as in freedom currency.
The PayPal system admin can create money in PayPal or transfer it (money).
Otherwise we are neutral and not free software supporters.

Maybe stas730 wants to use Trisquel CD's as currency.
