Popcorn Time not working

So I just made the switch from Ubuntu 14.04 to Trisquel 7.0 (by installing Trisquel over Ubuntu), and what I noticed is that Popcorn Time now fails to load (it worked perfectly before).
The specific Popcorn Time I'm speaking of is the WebUp8 PPA package version 0.3.7.2-1.
The app opens a gray window for a split second and then crashes and shuts down automatically (I attached the screenshot of the moment when it happens).
Does anyone knows why this might be happening?

Do you find it too concerning to use the WebUp8 PPA? They seem pretty trustworthy, no?
