Hello,
I know that snapd is not supported because is it way to easy to install non free software, but is it possible to use riseup vpn with trisquel,
https://riseup.net/en/vpn/linux
or should I look for another vpn?

Any suggestions for another vpn in case?

I do use Torbrowser pretty much always, but sometimes I need to use abrowser.

all the best to anyone that read this post :)

That's annoying. You could instead compile it yourself, but I can't find
the source code anywhere. You don't need their client to use their
servers, though, if you use OpenVPN[1] instead.

Hm. Do they provide OpenVPN configurations for their new service? In my
experience most VPN services do, but I don't see it anywhere.

You must use their own app as I read but it's just a fork of Bitmask, then, you could configure it in other client but I don't think that follows OpenVPN definition.

Those of us who want to us it could write to Riseup and ask for the source code. Technically, it should be available through Ubuntu or Debian, or how else would they provide it through their repos? If I'm not mistaken, they require source code, too.

Since this thread, Riseup has added an apt repository (so Snap is no
longer the only recommended method), and this repository appears to
contain source packages as well as binary packages.[1]

They don't provide it through their repos.

It is possible to have an apt repository which only includes binary
packages, not source packages. Debian and Ubuntu do include both
though.

Oh yeah, I tried their installation instructions for Debian, but they didn't work for me. Here was my repo line: deb http://deb.leap.se/client release buster

Here is the error message after running riseup-vpn in a terminal: riseup-vpn: symbol lookup error: riseup-vpn: undefined symbol: gtk_shortcuts_window_get_type, so I opened an issue: https://0xacab.org/leap/bitmask-vpn/issues/223.

but that's cool that they provide the source code. Maybe that's all we need. I guess it's the one that's named riseup-vpn_0.19.2.orig.tar.gz: http://deb.leap.se/client/pool/buster/r/riseup-vpn/riseup-vpn_0.19.2.orig.tar.gz

Didn't work how? What happened?
