I using Tor with IceCat. But Tor Project recommends Tor Browser Bundle. I not know about DRM in this browser. I can use this browser or better way is continue using IceCat?
P. S. It is "media.eme.*" config settings in IceCat and Abrowser. It is DRM? I forgot, but I think, it is "media.gmp-eme.*" in Tor Browser.
use torbb.
I will not be install TBB. I will be configure IceCat & Abrowser.
If I port Torbutton to my browser and install NoScript, I can get all TBB security?
If not:
IceCat is Firefox, but ONLY DRM removed and URL's/copyrights changed to GNU? If yes, I will download TBB and remove code lines with "DRM", "EME" and other bad words for personal use.
And I can install IceCat home/addons to get more anonymity?
Last question:
Can I use modified TBB (no DRM, **** it) to connect I2P and other anonymizing networks with proxy with additional security?
I compiled IceCat many times, and I won. I just wanted to include my (test) EV CA and certificate. I need to write my changes to text file and check new versions for new DRM.
I hate DRM and I need to remove this.
I will be starting the work soon. I need to check all code.
Ok.
I executing that commands (this means I want to close this topic):
$ su -
Password:
# forumadmin
topicctl *id*
close
stopctl
quit
# exit
$ exit
Firefox's EME support is implemented as a plugin. TBB disables all plugins.
Also, I think you're taking the responsibility of setting up a program to work safely with Tor too lightly.
Disabled plugin. Ok. But it CAN be enabled. I want to delete EME at all.
P. S. I need to contact FSF and send free TBB version. Bugged page for TBB exists in Free Software Directory.
Using Firefox with the Cisco H264 plugin works fine, but what's the best method to get Abrowser/IceCat/Tor Browser fully capable to play the content? I've looked at guides installing libav/ffmpeg and while it says I am good at http://html5test.com, I get errors sometimes about invalid format types. Especially in the Tor Browswr.
With Trisquel 8, it will go back to ffmpeg instead of avconv due to Debian and Ubuntu preferring the original and not the fork for future releases.
UPD: Do not close.
If I want to use E-mail protocol, how to use it anonymous? What mail client I need? And/or what extensions?
If I want to use ONLY Tor network to use E-mail I need Tor address? I know rules to be anonymous.
For talking with my friends over Tor. If I need to use account for other things, that can deanonymize me, I will use other account.
It using TLS? I can use OTR/GPG?
I will check TorChat code. And try to sniff my TorChat message and check encryption.
What about Tails & Whonix? Are this distros securest than Trisquel? If yes, how to get this security in Trisquel?
Up.
meh..
How to configure Trisquel like Whonix? Or I need to deblob this distros?
And I have question about DNS server. What difference have Tor and Unbound/BIND DNS server?
