Hi,
It seems Tor isn't downloading on the current version of Trisquel with all the latest updates. When I try to run the installer, it shows a 404 error. Is there a fix for that?
Thanks for any info!
This is not the official answer, but if you are using TorLauncher, this has been known to be buggy in the past and many people recommend downloading Tor directly from the Tor Project website at https://www.torproject.org instead of using the package manager to install Tor. Hopefully you can download and run Tor this way.
But that doesn't mean it is acceptable for Tor to be broken when you use the package manager, so I expect that an official answer will address this and help you fix that problem.
AFAIK, this package is problematic since it downloads from a third party, meaning you could be installing some antifeature with out knowing, and since the only source in trisquel repos is for the download part of things, then it can not be audited.
So, it's likely to expect this package might go away some time in the future.
Regards.
I recommend you download Tor with sudo apt install tor
then in Abrowser go to configuration/general/conection configuration/ manual configuration with this info:
server socks: localhost (sockv5)
port: 9050
then accept. and you go to run over Tor with Abrowser.
If you use a browser other than Tor browser you might be more identifiable.
