Trisquel 12 Needs A Name

Now that Trisquel 11 is out it's time to begin thinking on a name for the next version. There's no immediate need to please take your time.
Rules for names:
* Trisquel versions are named after Celtic gods.
* It should be a "searchable" name. That is, a name that doesn't have many results on search engines, so we can "take it over." For example: Searching for Etiona has Trisquel in the top results.
To avoid confusion it should also not re-use a name that's been used before or that might be confusingly similar. Past names are:
1.0 Arianrhod
2.0 Robur
3.0 Dwyn
3.5 Awen
4.0 Taranis
4.5 Slaine
5.0 Dagda
5.5 Brigantia
6.0 Toutatis
7.0 Belenos
8.0 Flidas
9.0 Etiona
10.0 Nabia
11.0 Aramo
Our fearless leader Rubén will review suggestions and make a decision in due time.
It may also be helpful to note that 2024 will be the Trisquel project's 20 year anniversary. I'm not sure how that connects back to a celtic god but maybe there's a way?

Fun fact: various Celtic groups used base-20 number systems, at least to some degree.
> Trisquel project's 20 year anniversary
Then there is Maponos, "Great Son", a god of youth. The Celtic deity mapping the future.
You can't use Moccus the Celtic god of pigs. That name is being reserved for lucky Trisquel version 13.
We are thinking about Andyproughwyn, the Celtic god of resident trolls.
Souolibrogenos - the Celtic god of libre beer. First do the beer god and then the pig god, it's the natural order of things.

Hello. Wasn't there also a rule about choosing gods from different
genders every time, like goddesses for even numbers and gods for odd
numbers?
Kind regards,
Ignacio Agulló.
Borvo or Thirona, both associated with healing springs.
We need to use Borvo's full name, Boruoboendua Vabusoa Labbonus. And if you don't spell it out completely and accurately each time you mention Trisquel 12, you are instantly banned. The proper name will be pronounced "Trisquel Boruoboendua Vabusoa Labbonus GNU-slash-Linux".
"He's sort of like Jabba but not nearly as mean."
My vote is for Matunos.
> Matunos
The Celtic god of the Mate desktop. I subscribe.
+1, for sound and "meaning". My new favourite!
Nice choice!
Besides the consonance with MATE, there are a very few information about him in the English Wikipedia (and I now not German enough to understand easily the German Wikipedia): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matunos
So he is associated with Mercury:
“He is the god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, messages, communication (including divination), travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery, and thieves; he also serves as the guide of souls to the underworld.”
In Mercury (mythology)'s English Wikipedia's article.
There are some positive aspects but some more negative (“god of (…) trickery and thieves”).
But Matunos is also (once) associated with Cissonius:
“He was probably a god of trade and protector of travellers, since Mercury exercised similar functions in the Roman pantheon”.
In Cissonius' English Wikipedia's article.
This keeps only some positive aspects of Mercury, but it looks more like a summary of Mercury's attributes.
If anyone have more information about this god it would be great.
I found Borvo on wiki, which sounds nice.
Nuada sounds beautiful, it seems to linger like musical notes.
Nuada is a king. Though he married a godess, he's still not a god.
Good to know, definitely not what it sounds like :)
I have no idea, so, I'll just say that among those proposed up to now, my preference goes to Borvo.
I found two interesting names :
* Bergusia, who is the goddess of prosperity, for the good state of the project after 20 years.
* Ecne, who doesn't sounds very cool sadly, is the god of the wisdom. I didn't found another wisdom god with a better name.
“Ecne had three fathers, Brian, Iuchar, and Iucharba, who were all sons of Brigid and Tuireann, also known as Delbáeth. They are called the tri dee Donand, meaning the three gods of Danu, which can also be read as the three gods of dán, or knowledge. Related attributes are personified as their descendants, and Wisdom is the son of all three.[1]
For Ecne to be the son of three brothers also recalls the early Celtic practice of fraternal polyandry.
Ecne's three fathers killed Cian, the father of Lugh, and Lugh's deadly revenge is recounted in The Fate of the Children of Tuireann.”
In Ecne's wikipedia article.
So, if I summarize, being the child of knowledge, Ecne is wisdom, but the three brothers that are that knowledge killed the father of Lug(h) (that is a rather important deity).
I wonder what knowledge led them to that murder and being the child of such a knowledge, how is it wisdom?
In other words, this story (even by not talking about fraternal polyandry) looks more repulsive that anything to me and I don't see any wisdom in it besides affirmations based on etymology, no facts of wisdom.
Bergusia looks like a minor and very local goddess that is great in a search engine point of view (not only that but it's hard for me to explain what I think about that).
But, I think that prosperity is about some certainty about the future and does the future looks so bright? I would rather think it's a time of challenge (with Unbuntu stopping 32 bit support and so on).
Looking back to Borvo and thinking about the fact that there are not much goddesses, I thought about his consort Damona (also named “Bormana”).
So, in a time of challenge, isn't it a good idea to take once's forces into once's sources (springs)?
Besides, Damona's statue is just beautifull!
