Hey,

Using netstat -t -u
I noticed a connection being made to an IP which, after doing an online whois search, discovered as belonging to "RIPE Network Coordination Centre". Is this normal or should I be worried? I was running Tor Browser, but not any other browser. Thanks in advance for an explanation on this.

Looks like an official internet registry for IPv4 and IPv6 in your region.

Wikipedia says it is "the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Europe, West Asia, and the former USSR. It is headquartered in Amsterdam, with a branch office in Dubai.A RIR oversees the allocation and registration of Internet number resources (IPv4 addresses, IPv6 addresses and autonomous system numbers) in a specific region"

According to https://www.ripe.net/about-us/what-we-do --
"We're an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation that supports the infrastructure of the Internet through technical coordination in our service region. Our most prominent activity is to act as the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) providing global Internet resources and related services (IPv4, IPv6 and AS Number resources) to members in our service region. Our membership consists mainly of Internet service providers (ISPs), telecommunication organisations and large corporations located in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. We also provide services for the benefit of the Internet community at large."

Thanks. But I still wonder, other people notice these too?
