Dear Trisquel community,

Trisquel 9 does not recognize two (LVM) external harddisks anymore.
Source: sudo fdisk -l

Please help. Thank you in advance!

As the OS does not recognize any USB devices anymore maybe I could solve it by writing a udev rule.
The rule would basically be to allow, or unblock, all USB ports.
Problem is finding an example on the web.

Please help. Thank you in advance!

Do you mean that the behavior changed after upgrading from Trisquel 8 or installing Trisquel 9?

Or did Trisquel 9 initially recognize the external volumes, before persistently failing to do so?

Trisquel 9 initially recognized the external volumes.
I have tried to win Lynis hardening points so have changed some basic settings, but nothing usb-related as far as I know.

From dmesg:
[ 3371.381681] usb 1-1: Device is not authorized for usage

> Device is not authorized for usage

Search results seem to overwhelmingly point to usbguard. It is in Trisquel's repository, so you might have installed it if you did some hardening.

You might also want to have a look at this thread reporting what looks like a similar issue:

Thank you very much!
Solved it by adding rules to usbguard.
