Trisquel Mini on Asus Eee 900

Hi!

I have a problem here. I tried to start the Live-environment from Trisquel Mini on my Asus Eee 900 - this doesn't work, I get stuck in a console. But! The exact same USB-disk could be used just fine on my Sony Vaio notebook.

I have just tested Trisquel Full on the Eee 900 - and this work just fine too.

What can the problem be? I have tested that the USB-drive and ISO was okay (md5).

I had a similar issue with the mini version on an old P4 Dell.

Did you try typing

startx

into the console window? This did the trick for me on the live CD.

I know this is a pretty basic fix and I am not trying to insult your intelligence! Just want to make sure you didn't try the obvious first! 99% of the problems that I encounter are completely obvious. :)

levl: Do'H! Haven't even thought about that - will try that as soon as I get home. I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't think about such an obvious fix :) Thanks - will return if it work out.

Hahaha! I am glad to hear that it worked. :)

Don't feel embarassed I have spent hours trying to fix various issues in the past and when I finally got to the answer it was usually something obvious and simple.

Just a quick question though does the wifi work out the box on your eee-pc? Or at all?

I have an Asus netbook, on which the wifi works, ootb, with Trisquel 5,
I18N Edition.
