Already for some time, OpenMailBox was the only email service provider available that combined the convenience of free personal accounts with ethical aspects by running exclusively on free software (Roundcube for webmail, and OwnCloud for cloud storage). Yesterday, I have learnt about a German startup called Tutanota which provides an end-to-end encrypted webmail client and email service, similar what Mailpile is trying to achieve. The registration is very simple and the web interface is clean and elegant.

Using it. Thus far, loving it :)
This point in their presentation - ”Tutanota is perfectly integrated
into Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013 (see System requirements).” [1] -
makes me to be reluctant to the new e-mail service.

But then "perfectly integrated" might be nothing more than a way of saying "It can be used with E-mail clients".
“For private users”…
The registration form asks you to confirm you're a private user. OpenMailBox has no such restriction.
The webmail software seems to be good, it is free: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tutao/tutanota/master/LICENSE.txt
It's still a good thing to have more free (gratis and libre) replacements to services like GMail, though.
About TUTONA
Free trial for 14 days only, no Thank You! You guys are promoting Skullcap, with incomplete information.
It's two different things isn't it?
Tutanota as webmail for free.
And an outlook addin for businesses, not for free. But why would you give companies that can afford to pay for outlook give it for free?
A thunderbird plugin would be great, though!
