Hello,

I'm interested in trying Trisquel and have attempted to install it in Virtualbox from an ISO.

The installation just hangs when it gets tot he point "Please Wait" right after copying all the files. Any ideas what might be wrong? I've got a number of other VMs with no issues. Thanks.

What version are you trying? I've tried all the ISOs at trisquel.info
without issues.

Check the MD5 checksum/re-download.

Thank you for responding. I am trying 5.5 but I will download and try again.

The installation is trying to configure the fastest repository server by using wget to fetch files from servers. One server never responds, causing the installation just wait for a response.

If you open a console and type "sudo pkill wget" the installation should proceed forward.

That's strange. I always end up with the Spain server which is the default.

I never use networking when installing initially, unless I am using my
network. I first change the repository to use the US server and I have
another system with apt-cacher-ng configured. I manually edit
/etc/apt/apt.conf before launching the graphical install.

I haven't seen the installer choosing a better repository as you
describe, not at install time. Which installer did you use when you saw
this?

It only happens if you install with networking enabled. I checked from logs what is happening.

It has happened at least with all Toutatis images, and with 5.5 images after the server stopped to respond.

This is a rather serious problem. Is anything being done about it?
