i will like it more when it doesnt have systemd.
which could possibly by arranged if its based on stretch.
does it add non-free stuff? does it change debians kernel?

very hard to maintain it as it will posses errors with anonymity components/dependencies. but since its free software we dont see it issue (though contributors welcome)

Nope , Whonix is free from any non-free stuff.

Nope , it would add huge load on the development to maintain a kernel plus distro. but since debian kernel has no nasty things (insecurity , non-free/blobs) then its fine using it.
nice. forgive my lack of info about it, why whonix over other anonymous distros? (it already sounds better, just asking for your take.)
Whonix base and isolate all your connections through Tor. and it modify and specify as much as possible the distro itself and the apps installed inside it to be fitting and connecting to Tor without any leakage.

we are agreed on the importance of anonymity. this doesnt mean to imply we are disagreed on the other points.
im glad someone is working on this who refers to non-free as "nasty things," i dont really trust non-free code either. seems like a pretty obvious problem that too many people ignore. (not so much here as in general.)

No wifi drivers , as this will be user/host to take care with.
conclude: no non-free software by default.
