Hi all!
I just installed trisquel to be able to become free!
I have a problem with my wireless network card.
Before I hade Debian installed and it worked fine.
Now when I try to connect to my router it just tries for a while
and then asks for network key again. This happens a couple of times
and after that it says that it is not connected to the network.

My network card is: Atheros AR5212/AR5213
The driver trisquel has choosen is: ath5k

Please help me out!

Many thanks in advance!

Atheros is one of the good cards that are supported by fully free drivers. I'm pretty sure it is a configuration issue.

Can you access the router configuration through abrowser? You have to type in the IP of your router, which is in my case 192.168.2.2 (with Speedport routers it helps to just type in: speedport.ip into the browser).

Once in the configuration menu, check what type of authentification is set for the network. There are several types, they have to match with what your Trisquel is assuming when connecting to the network.

Thanks Cyberhawk!
You were so right!
Apparently there is a problem with WEP-crypto, because that does not work.
Yes, I know, I'm not supposed to use WEP, but it is my old router and I have been lazy!
I set up my other router with WPA2 and that works fine!

Thanks alot!
