After installing Trisquel 8.0 by selecting disk encryption, when rebooting the system it asks you to enter the passphrase. If you enter the wrong password 3 times there is a 15 second pause, then it lets you try again. You enter the wrong password twice more, a one minute break and ... the system welcomes you to the emergency mode. The entire message is as follows:
Welcome to emergency mode! After logging in, type "journalctl -xb" to view system logs, "ststemctl reboot" to reboot, "systemctl default" or ^D to try again to boot into default mode.
Press Enter for maintenance
(or press Contro-D to continue):
If you press Enter you access the system with the root user. Screenshot attached.

I have tried several files in different places. The filesystem "/dev/mapper/trisquel--vg-home" that is mounted in "/home" is not accessible. But everything else is accessible, allows you to read in plain text any file from any other place, and of course modify them. You could put on that computer anything that when the user starts you all the data you want. In Ubuntu 16.04 it doesn't happen, it seems that is something typical of Trisquel 8.0.
Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported
release.
Cheers!
