This piece of conversation with marcooliva at #trisquel explains the problem:

16:34] I installed Trisquel 2.1 home today, and i see that i have the aMule and i go to sypnatic and when i
click to remove it, one dependency named "trisquel" will be removed together. Why aMule have a dependency "trisquel" ? :-s
[00:38] amule has no dependency of trisquel, it is the other way arround
[00:39] the trisquel package needs amule to be instaled
[00:39] this is going to change in the 2.2/3.0 release
[00:40] non-essential metapackage dependencies will be replaced with package suggestions or recommendations
[00:41] that way the recommended packages can be uninstalled without removing the trisquel package with them
