Bienvenue sur Trisquel
Merci d'avoir choisi Trisquel GNU/Linux.
Bits of freedom
Our project is committed to provide you with nothing but libre software, following the Free System Distribution Guidelines. This guidelines extend the free software definition to ensure you can use, study, modify and share every piece of Trisquel.
You can also support free software by becoming a Free Software Foundation member, and if you do they will send you a Trisquel Live USB card.
We promise Trisquel will always be free as in freedom, but if we make a mistake and you find something inappropriate, tell us and we will fix it.
Getting new software
Trisquel comes preloaded with software to do all the common everyday tasks, and you can easily extend it with the thousands of packages in our repositories. With an easy graphical catalog you can install programs for science, education, networking development, games and many more.
Our software is constantly getting updates, both for security and bug fixing, and they can be applied with a graphical upgrade tool. You will be notified every time new packages are available, and also when a new Trisquel release is ready.
The web browser can also be improved by installing libre extensions like ad-blockers, download helpers, bookmark managers, themes and more.
Getting help
You can get help using Trisquel in many ways, either by checking the manuals included with the system or by consulting our Wiki pages where you can find extensive information about usage. In the event of something going wrong you can also consult our issues database or send your own bugs or suggestions to it.
The community is also there for you. Through forums and mailing lists in several languages you can give and receive help and also meet people and stay connected. You can also join our chat channel #trisquel at either freenode or jabber.
If you want to deploy Trisquel in your company or school you can also get commercial support through our partner Sognus Ltd.
Join the community
Now that you are a Trisquel user we welcome you to join our growing community too. Users registered at http://trisquel.info can discuss and find help in the forums, edit the Wiki pages, help translate the site, send bugs and suggestions, pledge on crowdfunded tasks and much more.
If you are a hacker we would also like you to help develop Trisquel. There are many tasks to do, so not only programmers, package maintainers, webmasters and system administrators are welcome, but also translators, designers, betatesters, documentation writers, etc.
So as you see, anyone would have the skills to help in some way, but if you lack the time for it you can still contribute by becoming an associate member or by giving donations. You can also help a lot by spreading Trisquel through social networks, publications and free software events.
