GNOME Tracker Search Provider

I'm wanting to search GNOME Tracker tags directly from the Activities
Overview. The extension for it is unsupported by GNOME 3.18. Would it
be safe to force the installation by changing the recommended setting?

This extension is incompatible with your GNOME Shell version. For GNOME
Shell 3.12 or newer you can set "disable-extension-version-validation"
dconf setting to true to force installation of incompatible extensions.
