Issues with installation

Hello, so I’m attempting to install this distribution on an older Inspiron 3847 desktop, I looked at the installation documentation, from what I can gather there is zero speech during installation unless I’m missing something. I was trying out a distribution that allows you to press enter or S to use the onboard sound card at which point then you start the installation process, but I haven’t gotten any speech whatsoever. I booted this image off of a 16 gig USB flash drive.
If I press the power button, I get a nice tone from my sound card, which tells me it’s working, but no other audible or speech input at Buddha.
