Yet another legacy notebook to study

I can expect to receive one... legendary ThinkPad s30, whose chipset support only 256 MiB of memory, and whose firmware doesn't support booting from USB.

I may need to try something tricky to install the operating system. Maybe I can first write the Live CD/USB image to the internal HDD. Then install the operating system to a USB HDD. Finally, swap the HDDs... If there is a pre-installed HDD image, all the better.
