Laptop freezes at 7G ram usage even though i have 11.6G total ram which i can use

Laptop freezes at 7G ram usage even though i have 11.6G total ram which i can use. And i can't click to any program only i can switch between the programs with alt + tab

Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported release.
