shutdown problem

Description

When I'm trying to shut down the system from the menu it hangs at the trisquel logo. Typing ESC to see any messages of interest this came up which might be useful: process 2392 (plymouthd) has been marked to be excluded from killing[...] Please consider moving it into an initrd file system

Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported release.
