If you try to install IceCat from Synaptic, you will get an error:
"E: icecat: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1"
Looking at the details (which unfortunately I have closed, but you can verify yourself) there was a failure in moving the directory ~/.gnuzilla/firefox which does not exist.
If you make this directory (it can be empty) and again try to install IceCat, it succeeds.
This directory, ~/.gnuzilla/firefox, should probably be included in a base install of Trisquel to avoid this issue. Or a modification of the package to make it try to move the directory ~/.gnuzilla/abrowser should be done. I am in favor of the former.
Icecat was removed from repositories because trisquel uses his own version of firefox browser (abrowser)
