I have to close this issue report after a bit of investigation with status "fixed upstream" - precisely within package set available from Ubuntu Quantal Quetzal 12.04 release.
Upcoming Trisquel Toutatis 6.0 release has version 3.4.1-0ubuntu2.2 of gnome-games-data && gnome-sudoku packages inside updates repository, which are not sufficient. Version bump to 3.6.0.2-0ubuntu1 solved issue in this test case scenario, although is generally not recommended.
Bug severity still considered minor. (=
Fixed in commit http://devel.trisquel.info/gitweb/?p=package-helpers.git;a=commit;h=9fa8b1d86cfd88f8c9535ff35ced01ecc28b7e2f
