When I booted off a 6.0 usb stick I would not get to the desktop but to a login screen. (I could login with username trisquel, and no password)
I noticed it would autologin if I added nomodeset to the kernel parameters in grub. I have an old Radeon card, XPRESS 200M 5955 (PCIE) [1002:5955].
(I need to use nomodeset anyway for suspend and hibernate to work, so not a problem for me. But the login screen might baffle somebody else.)
