"halt" doesn't seem to halt machine properly

Description

Using command "halt" shutdowns the laptop with the backlight being turned on.
Power button has to be used to shut it down completelly. While "shutdown -h now" shuts down the laptop completely. Probably the bug is being linked with the bug #8073

I don't think this a bug, but a feature. You're meant to use the "poweroff" command.
