Revision of How to Create a LiveUSB from Sun, 02/26/2012 - 08:37

The revisions let you track differences between multiple versions of a post.

This is an easy method for making a bootable USB drive with Trisquel installed so you can boot the system from the flash drive and (if you wish) save any changes you make.

  1. Download a Trisquel .iso of your choice.
  2. Open the Startup Disk Creator application (located in the Main Menu at SystemAdministrationStartup Disk Creator).
  3. Insert the USB drive. At minimum, you should have about 1 GB of free space (or about 600 MB for Trisquel Mini).
  4. Select an .iso or a CD in your drive to be the source image.
  5. Select how much free space on the USB drive you want to reserve for saving changes. If you are making the LiveUSB for regular usage, reserving at least 300 MB of free space is recommended.
  6. When you are finished, click Make Startup Disk and wait for the process to complete.
