Video Card
- Minimum of 32MB of video memory (128MB is recommended for 3D graphics)
Intel Graphic Chip (910GL or better) are recommended to get an average performance on 3D support, some of the latest (2023) Intel Graphics models might require non-free firmware.
NVIDIA Graphics Cards, using the nuveaou driver will provide a basic support for some cards, but a basic 3D acceleration support is restricted to some very specific models on the best scenario.
Starting on Trisquel 11.0, Aramo, there is some work to enable some basic support on previously unsupported ATI/AMD cards. This will not enable any acceleration but will likely recognize the right ratio/resolution for most screens.

Wireless Cards
As a rule of thumb you might like to;- Avoid
- Intel Wireless cards, they mainly require non free firmware
- Realtek, as many (or most) require non-free firmware
- Prefer
- Atheros, as most of them use a free driver (ath9k).
