I found an interesting news story about the GnuPG author Werner Koch going broke: https://www.propublica.org/article/the-worlds-email-encryption-software-relies-on-one-guy-who-is-going-broke

Fortunately he has received donations so that he could continue developing GnuPG. The donation page for GnuPG is here: https://www.gnupg.org/donate/

If you use GnuPG and you can afford it, please consider donating!

my logic tells me, is not related to Trisquel.
Even do, according to the website:
"Note that despite GnuPG carries an FSF copyright notice, they never funded the development or hosting costs". .

If you research it deeply, this program is in danger to the users. FSF needs to step in and help the cause, before someone buys it, and the free licensing is deleted and the program owned as proprietary.

I use it too, but my budget is extremely tight to donate money. Sorry!

Interesting... but sad... on the other hand, my young friend Phil did well while doing a good thing when he created PGP - http://www.philzimmermann.com/EN/background/index.html
