I think he makes an excellent point:

He is right that it does hinder being rational... I also would add, whether you take it as a spiritual issue or non-spiritual issue,

Pestilence and famine and diseases, war, etc will always be in this world.

We are supposed to be fruitful and deal with the issues logically not go, "The sky is falling! THE SKY IS FALLING!"

That doesn't do anything useful, in fact it causes people to listen to dumb ideas, such as drinking bleach if you catch the virus.

By the way, here is some Sage Advice: DO NOT DRINK BLEACH!

It will do more than get rid of the virus, it will get rid of you completely. :P

so yeah...

That being said, I think everyone should agree with Stallman here on being wise and not watching tv coverage on COVID-19.

Well, if it causes you to worry anyways. I might still watch occasionally, but worrying? No plans to. ;)

(only comedians talking about it though) as an added edit.

insert late night show here __________

I looked at the topic and thought "Ugg, I'm tired of hearing about this" and then I looked at the URL and I was pleasantly surprised :)

> You watch TV.

You caught me. I sometimes watch sports events on my laptop. But not on a television.

TV news has always seemed to me to be like propaganda and an attempt to control the thoughts of people. I think that Noam Chomsky has been warning everyone about this for many years.

the tv media is bs anyhow. It's all so corporately controlled, I get my news feed from more progressive sources.

Why should I trust anything msnbc, fox news, nbc, cnn say blindly?

I'll be honest, i used to think cnn and msnbc were good news channels, not anymore! And no, I don't support fox news either, I am no longer a liberal, I am a progressive

They may be right about trump, but they also attack bernie any chance they get and excuse Biden and other so called moderates' issues/lies. by the way, moderate/centrist might as well mean conservative at this time in history.

The sides have shifted so much to the right.

News shouldn't be a for profit idea either, but yeah...

Anywho, this mini-rant was brought to you by, common sense.

:P

PS, in europe, Bernie would be considered a moderate. He wouldn't be considered this alt left loon that the media paints him as. :/

Thankfully people are waking up a bit.

Off topic from the thread, but on topic for what Andy was talking about. ;)

It seems that young people already do not watch TV, but youtube.
So maybe only old people and, if I borrow RMs's words again, idiots who seem to have the lowest level of IQ watch TV.
