Hi, I've been trying to install Trisquel 8.0 today but not having much luck

The text-base install works smoothly up until it fails to install linux-image-generic.

The graphical install works smoothly as long as I accept the default partitioning and encryption, but I really do prefer a separate / and /home partition to simplify reinstalling and would also prefer an encrypted /boot. Anyhow, the partitioning in the graphical installer seems quite buggy and I can't seem to clear this step successfully. Error is something like "can't mount encrypted /".

I guess I'll go with the default partitioning for now. I have to say, beyond that partitioning issue, the graphical install is very smooth and blindingly quick on an SSD.

Also noting that after disabling Orca screen reader as per https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/disabling-orca-screen-reader, logging out and logging in again, I notice that the "orca" process was consuming 100% of one CPU core. Required a `killall -9 orca` to stop it.

Rebooting may have fixed this since the screen reader is now unselected on the login screen, but I didn't try that.
