Alert Amazon Customers?

After watching a video of a couple of jackasses talking about Amazon's 'rights', the following occurred to me:

If every Amazon customer knew the most important points in Amazon's draconian license, how much would it hurt Amazon's sales? Imagine a dialog popping up stating to a buyer of digital media:

"Unlike non-digital products, the product you are about to purchase will not be owned by you, can't be transferred, and will be deleted upon your death. Use of the product will be limited to a select group of your devices. We reserve the right to unilaterally reverse your purchase--including remotely deleting it from all of your devices. Books and media can only be viewed using our, or our clients, software. Use and limitations of that software can be read here [includes a link]. A much longer, more comprehensive list of binding agreements can be found here [includes a link]. Click OK to continue with your purchase or Cancel to discontinue.

Somehow I can't see Amazon doing that! It is too bad, because that would at least be honest. Meanwhile, Amazon makes it seem like they are being honest ('you could read the agreement', 'you can buy from someone else'), when really they know people are unaware of these points and therefore are intentionally deceiving them.

Is there some way we can alert people on a mass scale that their digital media purchases will be under contract, and what the key points of that contract are?

This is not because of my experience with Amazon--I can afford to replace the items I lost. Also, believe it or not, I was actually aware of these points when I bought the majority of my digital media! I'm sure there are others who are aware of these points yet buying from Amazon anyway, but I believe they are a small minority.

Any thoughts?

Thank you Magic! It is very encouraging and exciting to know people developed such a project. I'm not sure how active it still is, but I wanted to thank you as soon as possible for pointing me in the right direction. When I know more, I'll post again.
