I'd like to use 64 bit Trisquel, can I use the amd64.iso instal disc on my Intel Core 2 Quad processor system?

"AMD64" is just another name for what Intel calls "x86-64": it's a variation of x86 which is 64-bit. AMD competes with Intel in making x86 processors, and they were the first to notably offer 64-bit x86 processors, hence the name "AMD64".

but AMD64 have some issue while running on some intel's old strict 32-bit cpu and also some 64-bit cpus
but it works
some times it creats more heat on some intel cpus and specialy odd ones in 2008-2009

Yes, you can. I also have Intel and 64-bit; AMD64 is the installer type you should always look for.
