I was just curious if the Atom text editor, https://atom.io/, was free (as in freedom). I sometimes find it difficult to distinguish free and non-free software, especially in this case.

After doing some more research, I found that Atom is listed in the FSF Free Software Directory. Is this enough to be considered free?

It's under the MIT license, so yes, it's free software.
