Eric S. Raymond's essays that comprise most of the (O'Reilly) book. They have a permissive license granted by ESR (Open Publication License 2.0). They are copyrighted 2000/2002.

"This directory gives you access to almost all of the contents of my evolving book, The Cathedral and the Bazaar. Enjoy — but be aware that I have sold O'Reilly the exclusive commercial printing rights."

That one always makes for a good read.

Unfortunately for the francophone readers, the url for the French version is currently squatted by what appears to be a groupuscule of dangerous libertarians. Strangely, ESR is not in the list of their favorite readings, so the bazaar has disappeared.

I wonder what the Linux foundation would think about this.

EDIT: here is a working link to the French version: https://cbarousse.files.wordpress.com/2018/08/cathedrale-bazar.pdf
