Can somebody give adequate answer, why systemd is so bad?

I am not GNU/Linux guru, but I would like to understand why so many wars and hatred around systemd. Why it is so bad? Why it is good? What are alternatives?
Looking back at that thread, I'm just happy friendships weren't destroyed. I wasn't helping matters, either.
Let's not go back down that rabbit hole, please.
Rather polemic subject ain't it?
Looks like.
https://without-systemd.org/wiki/index.php/Arguments_against_systemd, ‘‘Without systemd’’ has arguments against systemd, that’s just why Parabola isolates nonsystemd and systemd base systems to avoid flame wars between the opposed attitudes about systemd.
Unsure about the ‘‘second kernel’’ argument against systemd but sure for too much deps and requirements creep.
Another issue is, only systemd doesn’t follow service directories like /etc/init.d but instead you always need to run ‘‘systemctl .service ’’ to modify services.
