Can you install i2p on a raspberry pi acting like a server? Can you access i2p on a raspberry pi securely from a computer? Both raspberry pi and your computer connected to your home router. Can you access ip2 from the internet?

Comments on i2p?

I've not tried it but it seems possible assuming I2P runs (uses Java which eats loads of ram).

You can access it via SSH, Found this:

Alternatively, TOR uses less ram and could also do this.

I2P is a darknet. Thus, any website hosted within the I2P network (they call them eepsites) can NOT be accessed from the internet. Tor and I2P are quite different and have different approaches to reach different goals. I highly recommend to read the official documentation of I2P first as it explains the concept very well.

To be a little clearer, the darknet would be anything on the internet that
can't be accessed by normal browsers using normal methods. It's still the
internet.

mzee, the question was, can you connect securely to i2p running on a server from your computer? Not about the i2p network.
g4jc, java application will not work on pi 2? i2p supports their own torrent system. Tor does not. I do not know how to use tor in combination with torrent software. Tor does not want to be used for torrent downloads.

"Not about the i2p network."
Well, you asked for comments and you got some. Deal with it. :P

Additionally, maybe I2PBerry might be of help for you: http://www.element14.com/community/community/raspberry-pi/blog/2014/07/22/i2pberry-allows-raspberry-pi-users-to-surf-the-i2p-anonymously

mzee, you are right. I should have written comments on usability, speed, config.

My reading on i2pBerry is, that you can connect to the application from another computer.
