Cant install trisquel

hello i am posting this from a live cd
i tried to installed trisquel 7 LTS (on my ssd)
but whenever i get to the end of the installation
it tells my that it cant install grub and that it is a fatal error
dose anyone know what this could be casued by?
also i have sucsessfully installed debian 7 before on the same machine with no non-free software
i have also tried the netinstall cd and that diddnt seem to install a bootloader as i could not boot to my ssd

i installed lilo and all is fine now
if anyone knows how to deleate posts i will deleat this one!
