Ciao. I want to update GDB using GNU-DNS' launchpad repositories to version 7.6 using apt-get or aptitude, but it says that libpython3-stdlib is not available. I am very confident that GNU (https://gnu.org/software/gdb/) would not have proprietary software. However, I want to know if there is a reason for which libpython3-stdlib is not in the Toutatis (Trisquel 6) repositories or if I can install it safely from somewhere else without getting non-free software. Thanks.

Buongiorno! The reason it's not included is it's too new. Trisquel 6 is built on Ubuntu pp 12.04. That package exists in rr 13.04 onwards (so it will be included in Trisquel 7, which will be based on tt 14.04. New Trisquel releases will be made on Ubuntu LTS versions only.)

You could try getting the package from Ubuntu noticing it's not in Ubuntu's non-free repos, Restricted and Multiverse.

Grazie lembas, but I think I rather not brake my system by installing Ubuntu's software.
