I think he's right when advices for contributing free software community in order to keep it alive. But even if you don't follow his counsel, I don't think free software is dying, maybe it doesn't have the same psycho impulse of survilance corporations and it's creepy devices, but clearly there are people disapointed for state of violation of individual rights through world wide web and scary operating systems. For those people free software is the only choice.
I'm the probe of that! Last year I didn't have idea what free software was, I probed GIMP in my windows OS and I loved it, WTF was Photoshop? I searched what GNU meant (GNU Image Manipulation Program?), read what proprietary software does in the background and I was intrigued when I found out that GNU was a whole OS. I downloaded it, and here we are! Feel like I wasted a lot of time when I didn't know this stuff.
Jaja, espanglés es muy cómico.

Aquí, probe debe ser proof.

Y aquí, probed debe ser tried.
Sorry, thanks for corrections. I think from now on I'm going to read instead of writing. I feel shame

Don't beat yourself up over it. I've made worse mistakes in Spanish,
like "estoy embarrasado". :D

Heh, made me remember the interview for my current job..
Interviewer: "How would you say 'unfortunately our driver is late..bla bla'?
ST: 'Siento informarle que nuestro **autista** llegara' tarde bla bla..'
*autista means 'autistic person' :D
**well, I still got teh job.. x_X
Jxself brought this up.
RMS warned us more than 20 years ago. See "Right to Read".
I think FOSS is not dying, instead Open Source world has taken incredible momentum. It's really sad that companies like MS are buying influence over Linux world such as Linux Foundation and not supporting FOSS.
I haven't seen a MS's program that is under GPL license or a g**gle's one. That's my thought
"Open Source" is a misconception. So is "FOSS" or "FLOSS". Why not just say "free/libre software"?
M$ can only buy influence over Linux (since it became a platinum member of Linux Foundation), but never GNU.
Confusing "Linux" with "GNU/Linux" is a grave mistake. And those "Open Source" supporters are spreading such misconceptions.
