Change Account Picture

How do I change the account picture in Trisquel? (Not the forum)
Find a pic you like, process it with gimp, and save as ~/.face.png
That didn't work, the picture is a 100x100 px PNG with transparency.
Is only ~/.face
. You can see hidden files in the File Manager (nautilus) with Ctrl + H.
My bad!
I looked in the terminal, sure enough, it's '~/.face'. When in
Nautilus, I moved cursor over the pic, and orca said "png image", after
".face"; I miss read.
I didn't notice the '.' denoting a hidden file.
Yes, this worked for me as well. The change was applied instantly.
Thanks!.

It worked! I logged out, then I noticed the new picture I chose as my account picture. I logged in again, then the bottom menu bar didn't show up, so I logged into tty2, then restarted the computer, then the bar showed up again. I don't know if that glitch had anything to do with the changed account picture, though.
I haven't had the disappearing panel problem in a long while.
I don't know why it's happen. But you can fix it (when happen) with Alt + F2 typing gnome-panel
and enter. Or Ctrl + Alt + T (open the terminal) typing the same above.
Next time my machine does the Disappearing Panel trick, I'll just
restart it as you suggest; thanks.

I think this is a Compiz bug. A while ago I switched to Metacity and
stopped getting that issue. (But there are a few minor bugs in Metacity
as well).
See this issue: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/7703
If you want to use Metacity instead, just enter "echo >
~/.disable-compiz" in the terminal, and next time you reboot you will
have Metacity.
