Is ClamTk a good package? Should I even bother with anti-viruses?

I just saw it in Add/Remove Applications' packages surfing packages.
I have never used an anti-virus on my machine. My friends put all of their infected HDDs and CDs in my machine but GNU/Linux does not even cough :)
Haha! That's good! Well I just installed packages via Add/Remove Applications, hopefully I had ClamTk unticked :) I guess I should not even worry about anti-viruses using Free Software :)
I found a link some months back. I took a snapshot of the page.

The antivirus is mainly for servers, I think that you should not worry
too much about it ;)

There aren't any serious GNU/Linux viruses, so Clam actually detects Windows viruses. Its purpose it to protect Windows users you send files to. So if you frequently send files to Windows users that might be or have viruses, you may find Clam useful. Otherwise, you probably won't ever have a use for it.
Thanks for the response guys, great help!
Hey, I just forgot to tell you that some people say that if you use Wine(to run windows programs) ten windows viruses may affect your computer. You may install ClamTk then.
At the last school where I taught, I was permitted to use my own Trisquel computer in my classroom as long as I could show that it had anti-virus software. Clam TK came in very handy for that (for demonstration purposes only) and I didn't need to bother with the 'we really don't worry about viruses in the GNU/Linux world' discussion. Funny in that I also had to promise that my GNU/Linux system and use would be transparent to other computer users in the school. Of course it was and the IT director mentioned it when I said farewell. She also tried to get me to use iPads, SmartBoards (truly dreadful devices) and other non-free technology in the classroom. I politely refused, stating that it violated my code of ethics and she was cool about it.

I wish I, as an academic, have the same luck as you.
Most people from the college I attend have never heard of GNU,
Linux and Linux-libre, or don't know the difference between
"free", "gratis" and "open".
Sorry for deviating from the topic, but...
I'm thinking on asking the FSF to give a speech here, but I'm
not sure if people will be interested, and if those interested
can understand either Spanish or English.
Best regards, ADFENO.
Have a nice day.

ClamTk = GUI for ClamAV. Keep things lite on the system, run ClamAV in the command line. I'll do this when sending files to family & friends who uses Windows as a safety precaution.
