compile custom kernel for trisquel on OLPC xo1

I am getting close to booting up to systemd on my xo1. It says "failed to mount tmpfs at /sys/fs/cgroup: No such file or directory" and "failed to mount cgroup at /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd: No such file or directory"

Is there a kernel module I am missing or a package in the repository. I had trouble booting without the devtmpfs until I compiled it into the kernel. Should I compile CONFIG_TMPFS_POSIX_ACL too to fix this or am I missing something else? I installed cgroup-lite and it didn't do anything useful. The kernel is linux-libre-5.6.13-gnu. Thanks.
