Hello friends,

My computer will not awaken properly after suspending. It hangs with the desktop not visible. The mouse works.

I am forced to shut down and restart. Computer restarts normally if powered down then on.

I'm using a libre wifi adpater. And the problem persists even with wifi turned off.

The install shows no other problems.

I see from the Help Menu that there has been some work done on this:

https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/troubleshooting-suspendhibernate

As a novice this fix looks pretty complex, but I'm willing to try.

FIRST though could someone help me locate the "pm-suspend.log".

And if there are any additional pointers, please advise.

Thank you.

I would try a newer version of the kernel: https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/update-linux-libre-kernel

Have you tried opening a text session with Ctrl+Alt+F1 when the problem occurs? If it works, you could log into it and execute the following command to restart the graphical session:
$ sudo restart lightdm

I assume here you use the default display manager. If you use another (e.g., GDM) then replace "lightdm" accordingly.
