I'd like to use the Kanji Stroke Order font found at the following site but I'm not sure if it is free or not: https://sites.google.com/site/nihilistorguk/

As far as I know, that is the only font which shows the stroke order for Japanese characters, and I would really like to use it for my studies.

Regarding other fonts, I've seen some recommended free fonts in the forum but some of them have different kinds of licenses and I'm not sure how to determine if a font is free or not.

The zip file contains a file called copyright.txt, which contains the following text. It looks free to me.

That's a minor variant of the 3-clause (Modified) BSD License, so yes, it's free.

Alright, thanks to both of you for letting me know. I've no idea about licenses LOL, but I didn't want to use a non-free font.

A good place for learning about licenses is http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html

And of course Wikipedia.

I didn't realise there were so many types! Thanks for the link.

You're welcome. Actually even that's a small subset. Having all these licenses is a huge problem.
