I just wanted to share how I was able to solve I problem I was having.

Every time I disconnected my computer from the AC, the action that is suppose to happen when the battery of my laptop is low was trigger all the time, even if the battery was full :S

In order to solve this issue I used dconf-editor and look to the following key org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power.use-time-for-policy and change it to false.

The description of the key says as follow:

"If time based notifications should be used. If set to false, then the percentage change is used instead, which may fix a broken ACPI BIOS."

I'll try to contact thinkpinguin and see if they know something about it. My laptops model is compal pbl-10. I'm guessing the bios firmware is privative though :(

Thank you all. Hope this helps some one out there.

I too had a similar problem is some older version of Trisquel and found the same solution on an old HP dv5000 laptop.
