Hi all . I would like to hear your opinion about cryptocurrency as a support for free projects or developers.
I see that FSF is accepting donations in Bitcoins, Today, we joined the list of organizations accepting donations of Bitcoins https://www.fsf.org/blogs/community/bitcoins-a-new-way-to-donate-to-the -fsf.
The Guix project also accepts support https://my.fsf.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=50 and the Trisquel project also https://trisquel.info/en/donate, and for example Hyperbola is categorically against this idea https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id=en:philosophy:cryptocurrencies
Well in my opinion the monetary system itself is made to restrict people freedom by requiring to pay for something, and the less you have money then the less you are free to buy. And in my opinion it is necessary to have money, in any of it's form, because it allows equitable sharing of ressources (in a society were the money is equitably distributed, but that does not exists)
Also in many countries at many times money took different types, in old china people paid with tea leaf, some people in some tribes are still paying with sea shells today
So it's seems ok to me to pay with "standard" currency or with cryptocurrency. And to finish, today the "standard" currency is for the most larger part juste some digital numbers written in some banks databases. The actual physical money doesn't exist for the larger part of it, it's virtual, like cryptocurrency
Found an interesting interview
Richard Stallman Speaks on Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, GNU Taler, and Encryption
.. o pay remotely you've got to do it by credit card, and that's tracking people, and I want to resist tracking too.... This is a really serious problem for society, that you can't order things remotely anonymously.
As I understand it, he recommends Taler https://taler.net/en/index.html
Bitcoin is not crypto any more but currency.
Even BlackRock says that is legit.

Taler is a great project, you can use any currency with it.
Anonymous cryptocurrency like Monero (XMR) is like cash in the physical world. It is amoral. Anyone can use it, does not matters what you do or what you speak. It it very useful when you are censored. It is a Free as in Freedom Digital Cash.
The Monero Community is the best one I know. The official website and many websites that accepts Monero does not have JavaScript and have .onion and .i2p domains. They have freedom and privacy in mind.
Bitcoin is software that respect user freedom and community.
Hello icarolongo . Yes, I heard that Monero (XMR) is considered the most anonymous cryptocurrency in the world.
Then why do organizations like FSF and all free distribution developers https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.en.html NOT accept donations in Monero (XMR)?
