Evolution Mail is not emptying trash

I've been using Evolution Mail for a long time and I've found that it periodically shows quirks in its usability. The current version that is in Belenos refuses to empty the trash folder when using IMAP and mapping the trash to an IMAP folder. I've never tried using POP3 to verify how that works either.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I did run some searches to find a a resolution but I've not been able to find anything recent relating to this problem.

I personnaly use Sylpheed or Icedove.
Checked your settings?server trash folder deletion?

Pop3 is great when you access with one pc and remove all your mails from that server.

I'm subscribed to the Sylpheed mailing list & a lot of really specialized people exchange info & help out.

IMAP—store e-mails on your provider's servers. It provides you reliable off-site storage of your e-mails. If your e-mail data is important to you, IMAP is far and away the better way to go. If you're dealing with e-mail on multiple devices—say a mobile device and a desktop computer—IMAP automatically keeps everything in sync.
POP—stores e-mails in folders on your computer or mobile device. While theoretically more private, this also means your e-mail is at greater risk from user accidents, system errors, hard drive failures, computer theft, etc. It also means that every device you use for e-mail may have its own folders and be unable to see or access folders on your other devices.
